Petrolatum/Mineral Oil: A byproduct of petroleum, it is colorless, odorless, and hypoallergenic. Used as a solvent and emollient in cosmetics, it has antistatic properties. Mineral oil is available in cosmetic and pharmaceutical grades; cosmetic-grade mineral oil is safer and less irritating.
Shea Butter: A moisturizer and emollient that promotes wound healing, controls viscosity, prevents moisture loss from dry skin, helps heal wounded skin, and improves skin smoothness and barrier function. It also regulates product flow, improves viscosity, and enhances the sensory quality and feel of the product.
